What is the “core”? What do we even mean by that?

Well, by our definition, the core comprises all the bones, muscles, and connective tissues that extend down from the ribs and lower thoracic spine, down to and across the hips, both the front and back. There are probably lots of other definitions of what’s included in the “core”, but this is just how we define it.

How is “core” different from abs?

Traditionally, “abs” mostly refer to the six-pack muscles called the Rectus Abdominus. When we refer to the core, we include the Rectus Abdominus and all the other muscles of the abdomen, the lower back, and even our glutes and hip flexors.
