Expand your Healthspan—for life.
Potty Squats. (I didn’t come up with that name! ).
Physical Therapists like to call these Sit-to-Stand. Simple, safe, VERY effective. And you can do these anywhere there’s a chair or bench.
It’s one of the simplest exercises we utilize and prescribe.
Independence Day! Two hundred fifty years ago, we rose up and defied a tyrant. What’s the best way to preserve your independence today? Train like your life and freedom depend on it.
Because they do.
Healthspan is the time that we get in our lifespan to enjoy our fully functional physical and mental abilities. The currencies of optimal healthspan are strength and muscle.
Building them is like storing up riches.
A newish member recently asked, “Paulie, how come you don’t program Bicep Curls very often? I’d like to work on my 'beach muscles' a bit more. Ya’know, get a little pump.”
Haha, there’s nothing wrong with “getting a little pump” or training your “beach muscles.” But, I always think in terms of what will deliver the biggest benefit and be most functional…
How many people do you know who have gone on a diet, any diet, and had spectacular success? How many have sustained that successful transformation and kept the weight off? Yeah, not many, right?? Right now, we’re exploring the Black Hills of SD. Amazing!! We’re on our way to WA to spend much of August in Julie’s native state.
You’ve tried “everything.” Or at least tried multiple approaches, diets, programs, etc.
If, after all that effort and expense, you’re not where you want to be, you don’t look the way you’d like to look, or don’t feel how you believe you should, it’s time to try a different approach.
ingle KB Disc Lung (a mouthful!).
It’s simple in that it doesn’t require much equipment and challenges a common movement pattern.
Want more work-life balance? Yeah, I don’t blame you, but I don’t believe there is such a thing.
What you actually want is to spend less time working so you can devote more time to the things you feel are essential and restorative - usually family, health, and contribution.
These exercises are outstanding at improving your balance. My rating of them as “The Top 7” is not scientific, just my opinion.
I utilize them regularly in my own training and prescribe frequently for our members.
